![]() LUT's are OK for a quick way to preview footage but they are generally too crude with 8bit S-LOG footage and or are designed to give you a 'hipster' look. On A7s S-LOG files forget about LUT's and learn how to use Davinci Resolve. ![]() It won't have the full dynamic range of Slog2, but it definitely allows better control of color, and still has some extended dynamic range. I tried the CINEFLAT profile, and I'd say the author Andrew Reid has done a very good job with this. The LUT pack has Slog2 LUTs and a LUT for CINEFLAT. The guide describes how to set up the camera for this. It also has an alternate profile to Slog2 called CINEFLAT that is more like a Canon flat profile. It is more for a serious video shooter, but also useful for anyone to learn the principles of getting good video from the camera. The setup guide is thorough and step by step, making it easy to optimize the camera for shooting video. ![]() I did buy the EOSHD Sony A7RII Setup Guide and LUT Pack. So I'll probably plunk down $19.99 and see how it performs. The dynamic range of Slog2 is so good I hate to try something else, but it could be that this same high dynamic range with 8 bit video makes it almost impossible to have a LUT with high color precision. Film Convert is nice, except I don't want a film look right now.įlat but not based on S-Log. Alister Chapman's LUTs are pretty good so I'll stick with them for now. For most things Lumetri works well, although I haven't looked at Resolve version 12 yet. Yes, I'm using Resolve, as well as Premiere Pro with Lumetri. The LUTs you mentioned are the only ones I have found so far. What program do you use to edit your a7RII videos? Davinci Resolve? I'm guessing you're shooting "picture profile 7" slog profile? Has anyone found something else they really like and recommend? ![]() I've tried James Miller's 'Hyde Park' and his other Sony LUTs but they seem too dark and washed out for me. ![]() So far I get the best results with Alister Chapman's basic AC_A7S_709_.cube or his AC_A7S_709800.cube. And something that gives good editing control at the top and bottom ends. Right now I'd like a good video look, not a film look, with a LUT that gets close enough to minimize color editing. I'm looking for the best LUTs for the A7RII Slog2 profile. ![]()
